| How
RMI is helping Manufacturers |
- Founded in 1990, the Regional Manufacturing Institute (RMI), a non-profit association, was created for manufacturers in the Baltimore Metropolitan area.
- RMI is unique in that it has representatives of Business, Government, Education, Labor and the community serving on the Board of Directors. This helps greatly in getting things done with agencies and organizations that impact manufacturers.
- RMI is often contacted by news organization to represent the views of manufacturing. This means the views of manufacturers are represented publicly. We help shape public opinion regarding manufacturing.
- RMI works
with member organizations like the Printing & Imaging Industries
of Maryland, World Trade Center Institute, Greater Baltimore
Alliance, Baltimore County
Chamber
of Commerce, Maryland Manufacturing Council, Local Economic Development
Offices, UM Technology Extension Service, area schools, community
colleges, universities, and Maryland DBED. This means that
your company gets valuable
information on programs and services from organizations involved
in serving manufacturing.
- RMI works with local governments, particularly with Baltimore County, to get help for your company. Baltimore County Government was responsible for the founding of RMI and continues to be a partner. This means that we can connect you with government services without red tape.
- RMI programs and services emphasize work force development, networking, and technology. This means that we are working on issues of major concern to manufacturers.
- RMI conducts
assessments and surveys to identify the needs of manufacturing. This
means that RMI
programs and services remain relevant to your company’s needs.
- RMI’s
objectives are dedicated to serving manufacturing companies
and the manufacturing vendor/supplier
chain. This means an emphasis on your company and those who make
manufacturing successful.
